GPS-SAASM/GALILEO-PRS satellite navigation receiver for public services

Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. is the beneficiary of the project entitled "Development in Zielona Góra of a cryptographic GPS-SAASM/GALILEO-PRS satellite navigation receiver for public services".

The project involves industrial research and development work to create an innovative navigation solution: a modular, dual, vehicle-mounted satellite navigation system with enhanced resistance to jamming and interference, ready for integration with GALILEO PRS and GPS SAASM cryptographic modules, intended for public services and the armed forces.

The technological challenges addressed by the project include:

I. Integration of the GALILEO PRS cryptographic module.

II. Integration of classified GALILEO PRS and GPS SAASM technologies in a single device.

III. Development of an application.

IV. Acquisition of an antenna with enhanced resistance to interference.

The total project value is PLN 3,694,399.97, eligible expenditure is PLN 3,562,034.97, and funding from the European Regional Development Fund amounts to PLN 2,515,249.15.

To ensure effective implementation, the project is being carried out in partnership with the University of Zielona Góra and 4clouds.io s.c. (an SME).

Project stages:

Stage I (1 January 2017 - 30 April 2017) - Detailed requirements gathering - Concept and architecture development

Stage II (1 May 2017 - 30 September 2017) - Detailed specification, functional and block diagrams, defined communication protocols and algorithms

Stage III (1 October 2017 - 30 June 2018) - Implementation of the detailed specification

Stage IV (1 July 2018 - 31 December 2018) - Integration, testing and prototype construction

Project funding agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development

On 19 December 2017, Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. signed a project funding agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development under Measure 1.1 of the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The project is entitled "Network-centric system for traffic monitoring and airspace protection against unmanned aircraft, for prevention in public emergencies and the protection of critical infrastructure and public facilities (SSAD)".

The project will involve research and development work aimed at creating a system for traffic monitoring and airspace protection against unmanned aircraft and unmanned aircraft systems. The product will be innovative on a global scale. It will protect critical infrastructure and public facilities through a network-centric, modular, mobile and multi-sensor approach, automating analysis, detection and mitigation processes in relation to unmanned aircraft.

Project start date: 1 October 2017

Project end date: 31 December 2023

Project value: PLN 14,306,910.36

EU funding: PLN 10,469,990.26

EU funding rates:

  • development work is funded at up to 75% of eligible costs,
  • development work is funded at up to 50% of eligible costs.

Increasing HERTZ SYSTEMS exports through participation in international trade fairs and business missions in foreign markets

Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. is the beneficiary of the project entitled "Increasing HERTZ SYSTEMS exports through participation in international trade fairs and business missions in foreign markets".

The project aims to increase the internationalisation of HERTZ SYSTEMS by expanding foreign trade. The planned project start date is 3 July 2017; completion of project activities is scheduled for 30 September 2019, with financial completion by 31 December 2019.

HERTZ SYSTEMS will take part in five business missions, all to countries outside Europe, and five international trade fairs and exhibitions held in Poland and abroad. The missions will involve company representatives visiting trade fairs and potential business partners. At the trade fairs and exhibitions, the company will exhibit its business and products on rented stands.

The project's target markets are France, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the UAE. Participation in activities in these markets may also lead to partnerships with organisations from NATO member countries and other countries. HERTZ SYSTEMS will take part in five business missions and five trade fairs and exhibitions.
The project will be implemented in stages, with the company's participation in business events as follows:

  • Business mission: visiting Secutech, Taipei, Taiwan, April 2018

The total project value is PLN 578,100.00, eligible expenditure is PLN 470,000.00, and funding from the European Regional Development Fund amounts to PLN 399,500.00.

Development in Zielona Góra of a multi-sensor modular telemetry unit with functions for analysing optimal driving and safe travel

On 27 June 2018, Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. signed a project funding agreement with the Lubuskie Region under Measure 1.1 "Research and Innovation" of the Lubuskie 2020 Regional Operational Programme, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The project is entitled "Development in Zielona Góra of a multi-sensor modular telemetry unit with functions for analysing optimal driving and safe travel".

The project will involve research and development work by Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. in Zielona Góra to improve and add new functionality to its Hertz GPS On-line vehicle fleet management and monitoring system.

The project will result in an innovative, multi-sensor modular positioning device for the automotive sector, including light and heavy vehicle fleets and municipal service vehicles, to support their logistics operations.

Cryptographic satellite and inertial navigation receiver for unmanned aircraft

On 23 October 2019, Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. signed a project funding agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development under Measure 1.1 of the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The project is entitled "Cryptographic satellite and inertial navigation receiver for unmanned aircraft".

The project will involve research and development work to create a prototype cryptographic satellite and inertial navigation receiver for unmanned aircraft.

  • Project start date: 1 June 2020
  • Project end date: 31 January 2022
  • Project value: PLN 1,775,875.00
  • EU funding: PLN 1,160,593.75

The project will result in a receiver offering greater positioning and heading accuracy than a conventional SAASM receiver, synchronisation signals, resistance to radiated emissions, low weight and low power consumption.

On 30 July 2020, Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. signed a project funding agreement with the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development under Measure 3.4 of the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The project is entitled "Grant".

The project supports Hertz Systems Ltd sp. z o.o. in maintaining liquidity and ongoing operations following financial difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Financial assistance was granted under aid scheme No. SA.57015 (2020/N).
